Artistic Inspiration: A Dialogue with Picasso’s Techniques
This series is deeply inspired by Pablo Picasso’s revolutionary approach to line as a tool for discovery and abstraction. Picasso once said, “Art is the lie that enables us to realize the truth,” and I embrace this philosophy by using intricate golden lines to reveal the hidden currents within my subjects. Just as Picasso deconstructed and reconfigured familiar forms, my work dissects the anatomy of horses and mythical creatures, transforming them into interwoven patterns that blur the boundaries between realism and abstraction. Through this approach, I invite viewers to see beyond the surface and explore the underlying energies and emotions that breathe life into these forms.
The Role of Line in Revealing Hidden Realities
For me, the line serves as a bridge between the visible and the invisible, much like Picasso’s exploration of Cubism, where fragmented lines allowed multiple perspectives to exist simultaneously. Each golden stroke I create traces the unseen flow of life, suggesting movement, vitality, and interconnectedness. These lines echo natural patterns—ocean currents, tree roots, and the intricate veins that run beneath our skin—reminding us that existence itself is a vast, interconnected web of energy.
The contrast between gold and black heightens this dialogue between light and shadow, presence and absence, unveiling what is hidden beneath the physical world. Not everything is black and white—our experiences, emotions, and perspectives are shaped by layers of color, depth, and transformation.
Merging Realism and Abstraction
Each piece begins with a realistic form, but through my use of fluid, interconnected lines, it evolves into an abstract composition. This process mirrors Picasso’s method of blending realism with abstraction, challenging conventional representation. My work captures not only the anatomical beauty of the subject, but also the spiritual energy that moves beneath the surface.
The black canvas serves as a stage—a void in which golden lines dance, shift, and take shape, revealing different dimensions depending on the viewer’s perspective. This interplay between structure and fluidity, order and chaos, control and spontaneity allows the artwork to engage the viewer on multiple emotional and intellectual levels.
I explore identity, emotion, and the unseen forces that shape our world. Through these golden lines, I challenge perceptions, encourage introspection, and ultimately remind us that, like art itself, we are ever-evolving, intricate, and boundless.
Nature as a Source of Inspiration
Like Picasso, who drew inspiration from the natural world to express deeper human experiences, I find a continuous dialogue with nature in my work. My pieces do not merely depict a subject; they uncover the life force that pulses through it. Horses, dragons, and other mythological beings become conduits for something greater—the universal currents that bind all living things together.
